Holy is that which makes us Whole
Why abstraction?
My 2009 Toyota Highlander is approaching 200K miles. I gives its TLC w premium gas and oil and it gives me back the best perfornance on the road.
On roadless travel, returning this rental car there will be no regrets.
All the separate parts would finally meet. We are one after all. Paintings on a wall are just witnesses for a point in time.
Expressing the inexpressible in an instance is why abstraction is needed. The searching eyes know otherwise. Surface unity embodies the physical w the non, the conscious w its sub, the with and the without, the be and not. A sign on the roadless travel that we are heading in the right direction toward the unknowable known.
Saigon to South Orange, restless eyes look out to Gia Long street from the upstairs window. Longing toward something only a child could have known. A flaming plane soon crashing into Cho Lon. Climbing on Anh Tuan ship a thousand pairs of eyes waiting for what's coming next. Nightmare of red yellow star spreading all over is finally realized. Feeling fear for the first time. Drinking coke in the dark of night by Subic bay. Playing basketball on Guam. Riding bicycle for the first time in Indian Town Gap camp. Looking at the houses in Lebanon PA and thinking they were just like doll houses. Walking on 42nd street toward TimeSquare motor hotel visiting my parents in a one room hotel. Alone@15. Seeing East hall in the expansiveness of Northfield. Walking into the basement of Fayerweather hall Amherst College where the sculptural model dropped her clothes revealing her nakedness. To name a few of the beginnings of this blessed travels.
We grasp and then let it go with the hope that love will catch before falling or flying. We think we know but we really don't and it's ok.
Just make the mark and then let it go. It just is. No more no less.
